What is the difference between road paint and thermoplastic road markings?

Road paint is normally applied as a liquid coating and allowed to dry or cure. Thermoplastic road marking is a solid material that is heated until it becomes workable before being applied to the road. Thermoplastic is often selected for high-traffic applications where greater wear resistance is required.
